Misanthropy in the Midwest ?

I was born in a great year - 1983. The year "Videodrome" and "The Deadly Spawn" hit the theaters, as well as the year "Bill Cosby: Himself" graced the world with one of the greatest stand-up performances of all time.

My life has been saturated in pop culture, and steeped in an appreciation for knowledge and the arts.

I listen to music from all over the world - from nearly every genre, and every decade. I have a true love affair with film (especially "Old Hollywood", grindhouse, and 80's slasher flicks), as well as classic and contemporary animation.

I've been playing video games since I could hold a controller. I love classic NES, SNES, and Sega games, and I've finally made the venue into the world of actually playing games on my computer (I never said I was on top of the trends). I enjoy first-person shooters, puzzle games, and anything that has zombies in it.

I adore interior design, and have a special fondness for Victorian, 50's, and 80's decor. Despite my love of color, I have a strange tendency to decorate my surroundings in only black, white, and red. I am particularly drawn to checkered patterns. I know not why.

I adore jewelry, but absolutely detest diamonds and other "precious" gems. I am terribly fond of "natural" and "semi-precious" stones, and I have an ongoing torrid love affair with faceted opals.

I enjoy painting, sculpting with polymer clay, jewelry making and beadwork, writing, sewing, dancing, working with Photoshop, bright nail polishes, and riding an adorable, old-fashioned Huffy Cranbrook bike named "Rosemary".

You'll find I mostly blog horror, ponies, other cartoons, cute things, weird things, and basically anything that gives me a chuckle.

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?

18k gold on my fingers? Fabulous. When Zoya announced the pre-order of the Gilty Pleasures Trio, I jumped on it! I have tried other gold flake top coats, but none compare to Zoya’s Gilty. The flakes are much larger and thus, visible from far away.

Here I used two coats of Gilty over Raven. As with all Zoya polishes, application is smooth. I did not have to blotch the brush around the arrange the flakes - I applied the flakes on top like a regular polish. This is an eye-catching manicure and people who asked me about my nails were all amazed to learn that I was wearing REAL gold flakes on my nails.

I was able to fish out a rather large piece of gold flake from the bottle and I placed it on my middle finger. :)
