Misanthropy in the Midwest ?

I was born in a great year - 1983. The year "Videodrome" and "The Deadly Spawn" hit the theaters, as well as the year "Bill Cosby: Himself" graced the world with one of the greatest stand-up performances of all time.

My life has been saturated in pop culture, and steeped in an appreciation for knowledge and the arts.

I listen to music from all over the world - from nearly every genre, and every decade. I have a true love affair with film (especially "Old Hollywood", grindhouse, and 80's slasher flicks), as well as classic and contemporary animation.

I've been playing video games since I could hold a controller. I love classic NES, SNES, and Sega games, and I've finally made the venue into the world of actually playing games on my computer (I never said I was on top of the trends). I enjoy first-person shooters, puzzle games, and anything that has zombies in it.

I adore interior design, and have a special fondness for Victorian, 50's, and 80's decor. Despite my love of color, I have a strange tendency to decorate my surroundings in only black, white, and red. I am particularly drawn to checkered patterns. I know not why.

I adore jewelry, but absolutely detest diamonds and other "precious" gems. I am terribly fond of "natural" and "semi-precious" stones, and I have an ongoing torrid love affair with faceted opals.

I enjoy painting, sculpting with polymer clay, jewelry making and beadwork, writing, sewing, dancing, working with Photoshop, bright nail polishes, and riding an adorable, old-fashioned Huffy Cranbrook bike named "Rosemary".

You'll find I mostly blog horror, ponies, other cartoons, cute things, weird things, and basically anything that gives me a chuckle.

I finished Luna’s snazzy new shoes.

I just have to clean up a little of the excess paint around the edges, but I think they look rather nice. Pearlescent with a tiny dash of glitter, and I managed to perfectly match the color to her eyeshadow.

Now I just need to do something about that horrid orange abomination on her head…

The small portion of the fandom the rest of the fans try to pretend doesn’t exist (the extremists, aka anyone that actually posts on /mlp/) freaking out over “Equestria Girls”.

Trolls everywhere else trying to imply that the entire fandom is “in turmoil”, and essentially creating drama where there isn’t any.

And then there’s the larger majority who realize that EQG has literally no impact on MLP as a series, and that it’s nothing more than a side endeavor to appeal to the “Monster High” crowd.

And what’s going to happen after the movie airs?

Rarity: The most glamorous unicorn.

Can I just say here that I adore Rarity? She really appeals to that feminine dream of glitz and glamour that a lot of us harbor inside, whether we’re willing to admit it or not.

I also want to say that it was incredibly difficult for me to choose just ten pieces of art that exemplify Rarity in all her glory, because this fandom is loaded with so many amazing artists.
